Mesquite is a nutritious superfood that comes from the pods of the wild mesquite tree in South America. The mesquite that we offer is the Peruvian variety and is some of the highest quality mesquite powder available.

Mesquite powder has a molasses-like flavor with a hint of caramel. The mesquite pod is very protein rich and contains between 11-17% protein. Mesquite is also rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, zinc, protein, and lysine. Mesquite powder also contains elements that have been known to help stabilize glucose levels in the blood. Since its sugars consist of fructose, they don't require insulin in order to digest. It is for this reason that Mesquite is becoming a key nutrient to help treat and prevent diabetes.

Suggested Use
Add it to teas, coffees, smoothies, energy bars and nut butter spreads. It is also the perfect addition to salads, flax crackers, pie crusts, soups, BBQ sauces and frozen desserts.
